Harlow Tweetup

Our third Harlow Tweetup, and the first of 2014, will be held at Harlow Town Cricket Club on 29th January from 5:30. There will be an optional mini-pub quiz with proceeds going to No Child Without, a great local charity which provides financial support for young people across Harlow in order to help them access educational and extra-curricular opportunities that may usually be beyond their means.

It is a great opportunity to make local social, community and business links, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Harlow Youth Council organise Community Clean Up day

Following the success of the 2012 Community Spring Clean Up Day, Harlow Youth Councillors have decided that they will organise a similar day in 2013.

They would like to offer groups and individuals the opportunity to come together and work with them for one day, 29 June 2013 to clean up your communities.

HYC will co-ordinate the event and provide any equipment that is needed like litter pickers, refuse sacks and protective clothing, and all you have to do is volunteer your services for three hours to bag up the litter and rubbish in your work area, and we will arrange for it to be collected.

If you are a community group or a residents association you can choose to clean up your own area, but if you are an individual who just wants to make a difference we will assign you to a group as close to your home as possible.

We will welcome people of any age, although under 13’s should be accompanied by a responsible adult.  Each area/group will be accompanied by at least two youth councillors who will be responsible for arranging collection points and pick up of rubbish collected.

If you would like to join us on 29 June 2013 to clean up an area of your town, please complete the attached form (Community Clear Up) and return to Alan Webb. Harlow District Council, Community Wellbeing, 1st Floor, The  Civic Centre, The Water Gardens, The High, Harlow, CM20 1WG.
